THE HISTORY OF SCIENTOLOGY’S EXPANSION

The Sea Organization Begins

To support L. Ron Hubbard’s ensuing research and the delivery of soon-to-be-released OT Levels III, IV, V and VI, the Sea Organization was formed on August 12, 1967. Its first operational vessels were the Enchanter (later rechristened the Diana) and the Avon River (rechristened the Athena). Within a few months the Royal Scotman (rechristened the Apollo) became the third vessel. With these research vessels operating and a dedicated team for support, Mr. Hubbard continued to provide Scientology with technical breakthrough after technical breakthrough.
